Titration

A highly skilled consultant psychiatrist will conduct a thorough evaluation of your ADHD. This includes an examination of your medical history as well as an assessment using the common ADHD rating scales and questionnaires.

It's important for parents to take part in this process of titration, and keep an watchful eye on their child's behavior so that they can let the doctor know whether the medication is helping or causing side effects.

If you decide to return to NHS treatment, you will receive an individual prescription for your medication. You will be required to pay for your prescription at the pharmacy. This is not included in the consultation cost. You will need to keep up with your appointments every six months to monitor your medications. This includes blood pressure and pulse measurements. Annual reviews are also required.

Follow-up appointments

After the assessment is completed you will be able to make follow-up appointments with the psychiatrist, as necessary. Typically, the appointment will take place on zoom video call, although in certain cases it may be possible to do an audio only consultation (again at an extra cost).

At this point we will discuss any treatment options and come up with a unique ADHD medication titration adhd meds program. The cost for these titration appointments is PS150 for face-to face sessions and PS60 for online or phone video consultations. Medication costs are additional and are paid directly to the pharmacy.

This can be scheduled within the first few days of your diagnosis if are eager to begin treatment right away, or within two weeks if want to think about the implications of your diagnosis and the possibilities available to you.

We recommend that if you are unsure of your preferences, you talk with your GP prior to booking your private examination. Some providers have different policies regarding whether they require a GP letter. Find out if your GP accepts a Shared Care Agreement, which means that you will be referred to them when you leave the clinic for prescription medication.

Medication

For many who wish to obtain an official diagnosis of ADHD, medication is a key aspect of their journey. Finding prescriptions from an NHS psychiatrist can be difficult and lengthy. NHS waiting lists can be notoriously long, and GPs might be reluctant to refer their patients to specialist services.
